Misanthrope

  • 72 cm x 102 cm x 3 cm
Misanthrope represents a threshold where engagement with humanity is consciously withdrwan and contact is suspended. The figure's white hair and veil articulate a deliberate distance from the world. Resting on the shoulder, the white peacock- a symbol historically associated with immortality, inner wisdom, and spiritual awakening- accompanies the figure as an extension of her inner state. Stripped of color, the peacock evokes restained nobility and a psoture of self-protection. The feather held in the hand conveys lightness and transience, while the blood flowing from the wrist marks the work's most concentrated zone. This trace signifies the dissolution of biological, emotional, and social bonds formed with humanity, Lonf-carried relational burdens surface as an imprint released from the body. The figure embodies a conscious stance that leaves weight behing rather than performing an abrupt gesture of rupture. The direct gaze established with the viewer reinforces distance, The look sustains a clearly defined boundary, placing contact in suspension. The golden background generates associations of sanctity and historical grandeur, while the figure preserves her own interior territory within this space. Misanthrope renders visible a position that redefines the limits of relationship between the self and humanity.
