Spotlight Glossary

Spotlight Series

A curated group of at least 4 artworks submitted by an artist to be featured in Spotlight. Each series reflects a cohesive idea, theme, or emotion.

Spotlight Launch

The moment your submitted series goes live at the start of the Spotlight week (Sunday at 00:00, Istanbul time). It’s your official introduction to the community.

Coming Soon Page

After submitting, your series appears on the Coming Soon page until the next Spotlight week begins. This is your opportunity to start building early support and share your upcoming launch.

First Comment

The artist’s own introduction left on their Spotlight page. It appears directly under the gallery and gives you the chance to share the story behind your series, your process, and your intention.

Votes

Community members can vote on the series they connect with. While votes help determine visibility and leaderboard position, they’re not the only measure of success.

Spotlight Leaderboard

A live, weekly ranking of featured series based on votes and engagement. Top-ranked artists may be highlighted on Monkspace’s homepage, newsletter, or social media.

Featured Artist

Artists whose series receive high engagement and strong community response may be featured across Monkspace channels — even after their Spotlight week ends.

Spotlight Week

The official duration during which your series is live: Sunday 00:00 to Saturday 23:59 (Istanbul time). Artists can only participate in Spotlight once every 30 days.
