This piece reflects a vivid childhood memory within a dreamlike atmosphere. It began with the moment my sister placed me on the kitchen counter, turning the cutting of apples into a playful game. The painting brings together the kitchen of my childhood and the sunlight from our backyard through realistic colors. Wearing my beloved green tracksuit, I am depicted on the counter, grown yet confined, as if trying to fit into that very moment. On the left, apples; on the right, our old washing machine topped with my mother’s handmade cloth. The fruits where I took my first steps to reach and taste... Every detail carries special memories and warm emotions from my past. This work opens a window into my childhood world woven with memories.

I’m Selma Nur, an artist from İzmir, and my work is focused on exploring the depths of the human soul and individual perceptions through painting. Currently studying Fine Arts at Ege University, I aim to convey empathy and diverse perspectives in my creations. Using color and form, I guide the viewer on an emotional journey, touching on both social and psychological themes. Each piece reflects my personal experiences and inner world, providing a meaningful connection for the audience. For me, art is a way to express personal awareness and empathy in a powerful, authentic way. I’m dedicated to creating unique and relaxed pieces every day, always striving to grow as an artist.
