"FOCUS" is an interpretation of the connection between thought and perception with the surface. While exploring the dynamic relationship between the mind and the image, it expresses how perception, guided by focus, transforms the texture of the surface. The work, which contains the complexity of a psychotic mind and a reflection of an inner journey, invites the viewer to a mental and emotional inquiry.
The composition draws attention with its color palette that becomes distinct at two ends: the warm tones used on the left represent the area where thought concentrates, while the cool colors on the right point to an atmosphere moving away from focus. This color transition serves as a metaphor evoking the mind’s fluctuating and introspective landscapes during moments of concentration.

I’m Selma Nur, an artist from İzmir, and my work is focused on exploring the depths of the human soul and individual perceptions through painting. Currently studying Fine Arts at Ege University, I aim to convey empathy and diverse perspectives in my creations.
